High Performance Swim Team
COMING AUGUST 2025
Hill Country Aquatics is a newly formed USA Swimming team in Austin, Texas. HCA is based out of the St. Stephen’s Aquatic Center, a best-in-class training facility located on the St. Stephen’s Episcopal School campus.
The beautiful facility houses a 50 meter Myrtha pool and sits on a ridge overlooking both the scenic wooded St. Stephen’s campus and the Colorado River. The view is spectacular, and we believe it makes the facility a unique and inspiring setting in which to train.

HEAD COACH KIRK GRAND
“Kirk is undeniably one of the finest coaches in the nation, and his dedication to his athletes is truly remarkable.”
Zach Apple Multi-time Olympic medalist and world record holder
Technique and relationships are the heartbeat of HCA. They are the foundation upon which we build everything. By putting each swimmer first, we are able to craft personalized feedback that speaks to their individual needs, setting the stage for success and achievement.
At HCA, we don’t just teach swimmers to race — we teach them to race without fear or limits. We believe in pushing the envelope and testing boundaries every single day, whether it’s in training or competition. We swim fast, we race often, and we do it with purpose and preparation.
Incorporating technology and video analysis is at the core of our training. With real-time feedback and advanced tools, HCA brings performance to new heights during practice and at meets, giving HCA swimmers the edge they need to train smarter and swim faster.
While HCA embraces the future, we also embody the past — old fashioned grit. It’s the drive to dig deep, push through, and never give up. We cultivate that grit here at HCA: a mix of passion, bootstrap resilience, and a tight-knit community that supports and lifts each swimmer toward their goals.
Technique. Teaching. Tech. Grit.

HCA Partners
HCA has partnered with Swim Like A. Fish to bring even more expert swim technique education, advanced video analysis, and proven performance strategies to our team. As HCA’s Performance and Technique Partner, SLAF provides access to additional in-depth learning opportunities, including clinics, camps, online education, and mentorship — designed to sharpen technical skills, expand coaching knowledge, and keep our team at the forefront of the sport. We look forward to having Abbie Fish and the SLAF staff join HCA swimmers and coaches on the pool deck throughout the coming months.
